We hear all the time how important it is for kids to read everyday, it is also a good idea for children to keep track of their reading. It is helpful for a child, parent and teacher to know what the child is reading and how much time the child is investing in the reading.

Free printable reading logs for kids are a great way to keep track of what was read, reading logs should not be time consuming or cumbersome. It should take a child a minute or two to fill out brief information on the reading log, possibly such as: the title of the book, the time spent reading and maybe a very short comment on the book.

As a teacher, I had my students keep a reading log of what they read in class and home, I cannot tell you how many times I had a child go back into their reading log to find a title of a book they loved or they looked back to see what comments they wrote about the book. Plus it was a great way for the kids to see on paper if they were putting enough time into reading or if they needed to try and read a little more. Most of the kids really liked having their reading log once they got into a habit of using it.

Here you will find excellent free printable reading logs for kids of all ages, there are a variety of styles and themes offered.

It's completely free and easy to use!
