Free Printable Rosary and Blessed Virgin Mary Coloring Pages and Devotional Activities

In May we Catholics and Orthodox celebrate our Blessed Mother Mary. Our Lady shows us to pray the rosary; the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries. Here are free printable coloring pages and devotional activities of Mary, and the rosary. The rosary, given to us by Mary, Mother of God, helps us to focus our minds and hearts on her Son Jesus.

Family in Feast and Feria (click here) has made available in free printable PDFs a lovely little devotional booklet entitled The Rosary Color Book, written and illustrated in 1949 by Ettore Fattori. These lovely free printable vintage images evoke a prayerful, devotional sense of peace. The booklet has a prayer and meditation for each mystery, followed by a coloring page depicting each event. The booklet is one single book, but each set of mysteries opens separately. You must open each set of mysteries from attached links.

Joyful Mysteries (click here) The Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary include The Annunciation of the Angel Gabriel (the angel announces to Mary that she has been overshadowed by the power of the Almighty and bring forth a Son who will be savior of the world) The Visitation (Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth who is carrying John the Baptist), The Birth of Jesus (Christmas), The Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple (for circumcision and blessing) and The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple (Jesus, at 12 was found in the temple teaching the elders.)

Sorrowful Mysteries (click here) These mysteries include The Agony in the Garden, The Scourging at the Pillar, The Crowning With Thorns, Jesus Carries His Cross, The Crucifixion.

Glorious Mysteries (click here) The Glorious Mysteries include The Resurrection of Our Lord, The Ascension into Heaven, The Descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, The Assumption of Mary into Heaven, The Crowing of Mary Queen of Heaven.

This free printable prayer booklet is written with meditations and includes a place for the child to write a response or promise to Jesus while praying the rosary as she reflects on each mystery of the rosary. When you pray the rosary with children, I encourage each family member to go off into a private spot to meditate on each mystery. Ponder what Jesus and Our Lady may be saying to you. Write your response directly to them. 'My Jesus, I promise to love thee more, pray more faithfully (whatever comes to mind in response.) May this free printable rosary prayer booklet be a blessing to your family, homeschool or religious education class.

Veronica, the Luminous Mysteries weren't distinguished as such in 1949 when this book was written. Here are links for some that are newer. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/7949755/free_printable_lent_and_catholic_easter.html?cat=34. Hope your children enjoy them- Marilisa
