Cards for any holiday can be a strain on your wallet, but none so much as on Valentine's Day. The following sites offer a wide range of free printable cards ready to be downloaded by you. In some cases you may need to use the free program Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view and print, and if this is the case they offer a link to the download to get you on your way.

Canon has a great website for almost any holiday or special occasion needs. In their selection of printable Valentine's Day Cards, you will find more of a general assortment, rather than ones specifically tailored to husband and wife. For free merchandise I am always impressed with the artwork on this site compared to your typical store bought cards. If you are looking for a flowery approach to the pre printed verses on the inside card, then you have found the one flaw with these. All of the cards contain your basic "I love you" and "Be Mine" sentiments, leaving a few with blank insides for those that want to let their inner poet out to play.

Need your child to have some Valentine's Day cards to bring to school yet don't want to spend half of your paycheck purchasing them? Activityvillage.co.uk may have exactly what you need. Although a bit limited in their designs, they cater right to the kids with small printable cards that are the perfect size to cut out and hand to all their friends. If you scroll down a bit further on the page, you will even find a section of free printable cards to color! From flowers and hearts, to teddy bears and angels, everything here is age appropriate and sure to show that love is in the air!

With a mere 9 artwork options available you may wonder why I have included this site. The beauty lies not in the amount of artwork here, but the way you can customize your Valentine's Day card to make it extra personal before you print it out. YOU chose the color of the words and how they are written, YOU choose which greeting is placed on the front of the card and YOU choose what is printed out on the inside. You can take even the most serious looking of the cards and add the pre printed line of "This card was sealed with a kiss! My dog licked it!" to add some unexpected humor. Don't forget to personalize it before you print to make sure that after all that laughter the one you admire knows it was all done in the name of love.

They cut right to the chase here. 6 free cards all gorgeous artwork and each topic is taken care of. A cat and puppy for the kids, a bee and honey joke for those that like a bit of cheesiness, and one with the word HUGS across it so your lover knows just what you want. There are even some helpful printing tips to make sure that when you print these Valentine's Day cards, the romance stays right on the page!

I put the largest on line card printing site last in my list, because although they have an enormous selection, not all of them are free. Browsing through the Valentine's Day options you will find there are well over 100 to choose from. Flowers, candy, popular Disney characters, animals, hearts, balloons, Sponge Bob and Hello Kitty all help give even the most picky card selector something to choose from. Every member of the household seems to be included from husband and wife to aunt and uncle, you can be friendly, funny or in love at just a click or two of your mouse.

I am surrounded by cats, dogs, fish and a husband who has taken his artwork to a level where no gallery walls are needed.  View profile
