How to Make Your Own

"Rango" is an animated film featuring the voice of actor Johnny Depp. The story is about a chameleon, Rango, who longs to be a hero and then gets his chance to become one. The movie also features the voices of such actors as Isla Fisher, Timothy Olyphant, Abigail Breslin, and Bill Nighy. If your kids have seen the movie or are looking forward to seeing it, they might be interested in some free Rango inspired activities. Nothing beats free coloring pages for kids, but unfortunately as of right now, I have not found any good websites that offer free Rango coloring pages specifically. However, you do have some other options.

First, you could learn to draw the character and make your own fun Rango coloring pages for your kids. I know the idea might sound intimidating if you aren't a natural artist, but it's not as if you need to recreate the Mona Lisa.

If you would like to learn to draw the animated character, you could check out a tutorial to do just that on the website Dragoart. Dragoart provides several simple and key steps to drawing the chameleon.

Another idea for your own personal use, is simply to print out an image from the movie's advertising and trace it onto a page.

Once you have the drawn the picture, your kid can have fun coloring it in. Not only will they think it's fun, but they'll probably think it's pretty cool you actually could draw Rango and make their own coloring page.

What might be more fun for older kids, though, is to let them draw the animated movie character by following the tutorial or using the advertising materials for inspiration. Then they can use their own creation as a coloring page.
