You Don't Have to Pay to Recycle - Take Your Items to Recycle City

Elle
Since the recession and the slump of the economy, many residents of St. Charles are trimming the fat anywhere they can. According to local resident trash collector, Brandon Sanborn, of Aspen Waste Systems, many residents have cancelled their recycling services and have been putting their recyclable items in the trash to spare the extra expense. What many of these people don't know is St. Peters, our neighboring city, offers a recycling program that is free to the public.

St. Peters recycling facility offers residents a place where they can drop off all types of materials free of charge. The facility is called Recycle City. For people who want to recycle, but don't want to pay for it, a weekly or monthly trip to Recycle City may be the perfect solution.

Recycle City is for everyone, not just residents of the city of St. Peters. The facility is open seven days a week during daylight hours and is a self-service, drop off center that is open to the public. With bins that are located near the front of the building and marked for each type of material, the drop off center is easy and accessible for everyone.

If you have a large quantity of items to drop off or if you only drop off once a month, you may want to sort your items ahead of time and place them in separate containers before you get there. If you only have a small amount of items, you can place them all in the same box and easily sort them on location. Recycle City accepts almost anything that can be recycled included but not limited to the following list:

paper
(computer paper, notebook paper, magazines, telephone books, junk mail, newspapers, brown paper bags)

cardboard -broken down and flattened
(pizza boxes or frozen dinner boxes)
