Power, Water, All of It

Seth Anderson
There will be a day when our light bulbs power our houses. There will be a day where power lines don't mark the countryside. There will be a day when our dreams come true.

Forgive the brevity of this article, but I just randomly woke up tonight, and thought I should quickly share my thoughts. I must go back to sleep as soon as I am done writing this, as I have work in the morning, but I feel these thoughts need to be shared all the same.

I am young and naive, yet distrustful as seems to come with age. I am always looking for ways to better my life, as well as the lives of others. Some prospects are met with scientific skepticism, while other things are met with youthful joy. I try to keep an open mind, yet I analyze all that I come across.

The focus of my analysis has largely been technology. Knowledge is power, in every sense of the saying, and it is a knowledge of technology that I often crave. Through my years, the ingenuity of Nicolai Tesla has stolen my heart, and the significant impact of Cold Fusion has trapped my mind. There will indeed be a day when these technologies, among others, will make the mere idea of money obsolete.

But that is not the direction of my thoughts, and I must not get sidetracked. I have come here today to talk about power, more than anything.

Electricity is what powers mankind nowadays. If power went out right now, worldwide, the result would be catastrophic. We have come to need power throughout our daily lives, more so than many things. But I feel that the power producing industry, scientifically speaking, is way behind everything else... But this will not be that way for long.

Now imagine: A day where wars and economic embargos are no longer fought over petrol. A day without getting a red bill from your local extorti- er, power company. Imagine FREE POWER.

Its almost hard to think of, isn't it? How much would our lives change if our car could be fueled by water, or our house powered by cold fusion capsules installed into the ceiling, doubling up as a light bulb. The surplus of resources driving prices down on most everything . Personally, I think it is a fantastic thing to live for!

So, I have come to tell you about my dream. I dream of a research institute opening just for creating free power. It is possible, I know this for a fact. And I believe that there are a great many people who would agree with me.

Nicolai Tesla created these wonderful inventions, called Tesla Coils, that allow power to be transmitted WIRELESSLY and openly. Not only can it be used to transmit energy, but it can be used as a zero-point energy generator, gathering or receiving ambient electrical output. Now couple this with cold fusion, and I think you have mankind's greatest modern achievement!

Though I am no expert in the field, and am not truly familiar with the limitations of such things, I do, however, see great potential. I see a day when we can have a Tesla Coil on the roof, transmitting energy to all of the little cold-fusion capsules around the house, providing them with the energy necessary to begin the fusion process. With surplus energy going into a surplus battery in the basement, we could truly have self-sufficient homes!

Now imagine a fusion powered vehicle, or simply a fusion powered motor! We could pump and filter fresh water from reseviors and underground channels, without using expensive power! We could drive a car fueled only by water! There are endless possibilities in my mind, and I see a bright future if only we can make power free.

Now imagine, all of these wonderful, and powerful, energy sources, driving down the cost to manufacture goods, driving down the cost of agriculture, and driving down the cost of transportation! Instead of paying a manufacturer's electric bill, you'll be paying for the manufacturer's equipment! That'll drive down costs massively all on its own!

Next we have robotics. Now I know that is an almost dirty word nowadays, with automated assembly lines replacing human workers and causing massive job fluctuation. But I feel that it doesn't have to be a dirty word. What if we could, as the entire human race, create such a surplus in resources that we do not NEED to pay that power bill, or that water bill? I know, the concept is so alien it's almost frightening, but please stick with me here!

Computer technology and robotics are on the verge of changing the world! With proper application, we can manufacture goods with so much surplus that we could feed the world at no cost! Robotic hydro- and aeroponic systems could grow food at an alarming rate! Robotic manufacturing can produce goods of alarming quality with great speed! With proper application, we could walk into Walfart and pick up a gallon of milk marked $0.00. If the supply exceeds the demand, then prices will obviously fall.

I know, my words keep getting scarier and scarier, and it sounds like I am formulating a plan to put billions of people out of work, but that will not be the end result. These technologies will open up a whole new path for mankind! We won't need money in our pockets just to get by. Money will simply be... a thing of the past. We can still do the things we enjoy, like being a chef or construction worker or computer technician. It'd just be in a different environment, society, and world, with new rewards and challenges in life.

To me, the simple things in life, like having food, shelter, water, and power, shouldn't be paid for. It should be something that we are capable of producing a surplus in our own house. It makes me wonder how much development it would spur on. If we are no longer worrying about the price of petrol, or food, and we can synthesize just about any resource needed.... We could... Explore who we are as a species, space, the bottom of the ocean which we know so little about, ourselves as individuals. The progress would be unimaginable, and to me, truly a beautiful thing.

I understand that some may call me naive, or a fool... or simply looking for a way to be lazy and not have to work. But regardless of what any of you out there have to say, I know me. I know that I AM naive, but I am NOT a fool. I am not looking for an easy out for work. I am looking for a way to improve the quality of living for the entire world. I am looking for freedom, and hope. I am looking for mankind to unleash its true potential. If that makes me naive and a fool, then I feel that it is not such a bad thing after all.

*Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get some sleep in before work!*

I was born in England, but have sinced traveled like the Gypsies of old. I am just a bit uncouth, and can be caught quoting Bill Hicks or Monty Python.  View profile

Sad thing to me is... this article is my least viewed article... I wave an article around talking about hope, free freedom, and technology... and people are more interested in reading my spite filled rants, improperly communicated philosophies, and other randomness... I'm talking about FREE F*ING POWER HERE! FREE GOODS AND SERVICES! FREE EVERYTHING! Not as a hippy, but as a bloody SCIENTIST! And does anyone care? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I guess yer all too interested in blaming bush and praising obama, or vice versa, huh?

Sorry. I'm feeling a bit bitter at the moment. But it's only due to the amazing... You know what. Screw it. I'm not justifying myself. Take this as you will. I don't care...

These are some awesome thoughts! I have had similar ones, only to be told they were "stupid ideas" that would "never work". Actually, these ideas of yours are quite realistic (and I do so admire Tesla and my personal scientist/inventor hero, Edison), but the problem lies within the profiteering of the power industry. It seems they climbed the ladder of success and then burned it up behind them! No, your government does NOT want you to be self-reliant! They want you on the Matrix forever. In other words, how DARE you endeavor to survive, let alone prosper without their help or permission! Well, maybe someday!
