Free Resources to Help Prepare for Children's Church

I began teaching children's church as a teen, and I have compiled a great list of free websites and resources that are a huge help for a children's ministry director preparing for children's church. I use many of these websites weekly to get ideas and prepare for my children's church ministry or Sunday School lesson each week:

Children's Church Ministry - This website has a ton of free information that will benefit any ministry worker who is preparing for children's church. It has an extensive collection of children's church songs, games, object lessons, ideas, and more. It also has a lot of good information about how to teach a Bible lesson, how to give an invitation, and how to deal with discipline problems in children's church. There is an awesome e-Book available for sale on the site, but there are also nearly 100 pages of free content related to children's church ministry.

Kids Sunday School Place - This is a huge website full of material that would be useful in preparing for children's church. There are many free resources in addition to an extensive database of materials for subscribers only. This site has activities, bulletin boards, crafts, games, lessons, object talks, puzzles, skits, songs, and stories for children's church ministry.

Fishers of Kids - This website has a year and a half of free children's church ministry curriculum with corresponding skits, puppet skits, and children's church schedules. I particularly get great ideas from the cute mascot puppet "Clunky" about puppet skits for various Bible story topics.

Christian Preschool Printables - This site has a lot of free resources for preparing for children's church. There are many Bible verse cards, lapbooks, Bible coloring pages, Christian file folder games, finger puppets, felt sets, Sunday School lessons, games, and other children's church ministry activities.

Reaching the Children - The appearance of this children's ministry website changes frequently, but it usually contains a lot of free resources for ministry workers preparing for children's church. There are also online games for kids. I particularly like and use the database of games and the Bible story locator list.

I hope this list is a blessing to children's ministry workers as they are searching for resources to use while preparing for children's church each week. I know that it can be difficult to prepare for children's church without a large budget to purchase all of the great resources that are available, but it really is possible to have an awesome children's church ministry without spending a dime.
