Free Ringtones Available with Purchase of "Name that Tune" Game

Top Selling Mobile Game Offers a Free Ringtone Every 10 Days!

Are you tired of surfing the "Free Ringtones!" websites, looking for something worthwhile? You know, of course, that if you download the free ringtones, you will inevitably end up on a spam mailing list for all sorts of other junk. Is it worth the hassle? Well, it certainly isn't worth the hassle to try to create your own free ringtones with music editing software ... what a pain!! If you are looking for a fun way to get free ringtones, try subscribing to the subscription game "Name That Tune®! "

The unlimited subscription costs $11.99 on Verizon, which means you pay that price once, and then you get to play as many games as you want to play from now on at no additional charge! (except a little airtime once in awhile - see details below.) And you are eligible to download a free ringtone every 10 days from the songs on the games you have played ! I'm pretty sure the game is available from other carriers as well - check into it if you use someone else besides Verizon. It's a great way to receive fun free ringtones to use for all your contacts, and by installing an inexpensive memory card in your phone, you can also save up the best free ringtones until you have a contact to go with them!

Once you've subscribed to the unlimited subscription, the only charges are an occasional 15 seconds or so of airtime, when the game must download new songs. This happens after every 3 games. A game consists of the five questions and two "mystery questions" in one of about 20 "genres" - everything from country to hip-hop, movies and TV shows to love songs. This game is great fun when you're sitting in the car waiting for someone, or when you have a few minutes to kill. But if you are going to be playing it in the doctor's office waiting room, or some other indoor location, be sure to bring along your earphones, because the volume on the game is REALLY LOUD, and you can't turn it down! That is, of course, unless you WANT to play it with others, in which case the volume is just perfect!

According to the company that provides "Name That Tune®" to the wireless industry, Sonic Branding Solutions, this game is the "#1 game in wireless" and the "leading wireless music subscription game in the U.S.". It won awards at the 2004 CTIA Mobile Music Conference, and there have been over 7,000,000 (that's 7 MILLION) games played to date. Maybe the free ringtones offer is one of the reasons!

Based on the 1970s TV show of the same name, (remember "I can name that tune in 3 notes"?), this mobile phone version gives you a lot more notes before you have to guess the tune. About 15-20 seconds of the song is played, and then you are asked to identify it, either by name of the song, its artist, the movie it is from, etc. After you've guessed the initial five songs, there are two additional "spin the wheel" questions where you are asked a mystery question. You can also play games with other Verizon customers, if anyone happens to be playing at the same time you want to play.

The only other downside to this game is that occasionally, the music quality of a song (not many, but a few) will sound really bad ... like an old cassette tape player with a bad tape. But for the most part, the songs are fun and provide unique free ringtones that will have people around you laughing when your phone rings! For example, I have the theme from "The Jetsons" set up as the ringtone when my son calls. The theme from "Star Trek" is the ringtone for my husband's calls. And when my sister (who lives in Kansas) calls, I hear "Ease On Down The Road" (from "The Wiz", of course!). And can you think of a better song than the Scarecrow's song from "The Wizard of Oz" ... "If I Only Had A Brain" ... to use as a calendar reminder?

Check out "Name That Tune®" on Verizon, have a lot of fun playing the game with friends and family, and rack up those FREE RINGTONES!

This is very useful information. More people should know this. But your link from Yuwie is placed incorrectly and it doesn't come up properly. I hope you fix it because it's a really really good article.
