If you know how to sew, making your own robe can save you a little money. By making your own robe, you can make it in the fabric you like; not to mention your favorite color. You can also make a robe for someone who is in a nursing home, a friend, relative or for a clothes drive in your area.
If you don't how to sew, ask someone you know if they would make one for you for a small fee or the cost of the material for them to make one for themselves. Not only can you have a robe made to suit you, you will be helping a seamstress with a small amount of money or a new garment for themselves.
The second and third robes could be made as part of or as an actual costume for a pajama party or for a Halloween costume. By doing this, you could wear the robe once you are finished with it for your party or costume.
Create a comfortable robe with this t-shirt style pattern. You will have to draw your own pattern for the robe by drawing it onto paper. Once you have the pattern drawn and cut out, cutting out and sewing the robe will be easy to do. You will be able to add pockets to the robe. The instructions for this robe reminds me of a robe I made for a sewing project in high school for Home Economics Class.
There are three different Egyptian robe patterns listed on this site. All three Egyptian robes look simple enough to make. There isn't an actual pattern that you pin to the fabric to cut out, but by looking at the pictures on this page you don't need one.
This pattern will need to be enlarged in order to pin it to the fabric. There are three pieces to this pattern. The text on the fabric is in French. The pattern has markings on it to show where it needs to be sewn.
This robe pattern is written for the use of Serger Sewing Machines. There is a disclaimer stating the pattern can be adapted for other sew machines.
