Free Romantic and Valentine's E-Cards for Adults

Valentine's Day cards are not just for children. We can all enjoy the fun of sending and receiving little greetings and notes or cheer during this cold, dark season of winter. Here are a variety of websites featuring free e-cards and printable valentine cards for adults to share with each other. Many of the sites feature cards to send to sweethearts and lovers and are sensual or romantic, but there are no obscene or pornographic cards included in this list.

Classic Poems is really my type of e-card website. The site features cards with a variety of lovely images, verses from poets from different times and places around the world. Each card includes a selection of music as well from classical, baroque and renaissance periods as well as modern music. You'll find the beloved works of Poe, Shakespeare, Whitman, Donne, Milton, Shelley, Dickinson, Spenser, Yeats, Browning, Coleridge, Frost, Blake, Burns and more. I did not find my favorite, the Lebanese Kahlil Gibran, but I did find another favorite, Omar Khayyam. This is a free site, but you must fill in your name (first and last), email and agree to terms of service before you can send an e-card from classic poems. You can also choose to subscribe for $3.95 a month and have access to more features, but it seems to me that there are enough free options available.

Classic poems does not just offer Valentine's Day cards, but all occasion cards also. Poems, especially those that have been loved for generations, are the perfect venue for those who don't want to write their own or don't know what to say, but also want a special unique card that doesn't have a cheesy generic greeting. Classic poetry has stood the test of time and speaks to our inmost feelings.

GreetingsNecards features a huge variety of free e-cards for all sorts of holidays around the world such as Ramadan and Diwali. You will also find free cards of every day in January along with what is celebrated on that day, such as Squirrel Appreciation Day January 21 or Bubble Gum Day on January 29. I'm thinking that with this much choice and variety, finding a free card for Valentine's Day should be pretty easy. They have singing cards, animated cards, personalized cards, as well as many all occasion cards.

Passion Up sounds more intense than it is. I looked it over and what I really liked was the love letter templates, poetry, love sonnets, friendship poems, romantic notes and funny valentines. the love letter template works kind of like the Mad Libs we played as kids. You are given a letter template or frame. You fill in the blanks with details and descriptions of your own. This is a great feature for those who find it hard to think of what to say, but don't want a mass produced Hallmark type greeting. You can personalize these poems and love letters with your won inspirations. Passion up is an attractive website with lovely graphics. Again as with Classic Poems, this is a free site, but you will have to enter your email, first and last name, agree to terms of service and download an Active X.

Many of these sites feature a card-of-the-day which takes the search and guess work out of the selection process. Happy Valentine's Day !
