The first thing to get straight is yes, the satellite dish is free and in order to receive it, you do have to sign a contract agreeing to be a paying subscriber to the channel programming for at least a year. Which you are going to need anyway, so right away, this is a good deal.
Second, out of the satellite TV providers that are offering a free satellite dish, there are only two
companies you are really dealing with: Dish Network and Directv. There are many online websites with different names but if you pay attention, you'll see that they are offering either one of those two choices above.
Other than that difference, the only other difference is that some of the websites have different satellite TV promotions. So as an example, let's say both company ABC.com and 123.com offer Dish Network satellite TV. ABC.com currently has a special where you not only get a free satellite dish, but 3 months free programming.
123.com at the same time is giving away a free DVR (along with the free satellite dish). Usually though, there's not much difference between the offers.
Or they may have a discounted price special for the year on a programming package. A programming package is just whatever channels you will be getting. You can choose different programming packages and receive different channels(one point to consider while reviewing the channel packages is if you want foreign-language programming or a specific channel, as Dish Network and Directv may offer different channels).
The main differences you will find and want to pay attention to in making your decision is:
What are the Satellite TV Channel Program Package differences between Dish Network and Directv? (For instance, Direct TV may carry different sports channels than Dish Network).
What are the Customer Service differences between Dish Network and Directv? ( Try looking up reviews online).
Once you have decided between Dish Network or Directv, look through the different satellite TV providers' offers to decide which free promotion you'd like.
Some websites have a quicker appointment time for installation than others. If that's important check their FAQ's.
Once you've gone through that, go ahead and make that appointment and wait, then enjoy your new satellite TV programming!

Post a CommentIf you want to pull your hair out from the Awful Customer service and lack of escalation path, go with DirecTV. Read the blogs about experiences people have had with this awful company and do not believe the commercials. I have never been treated so poorly by any company in my entire life.
