Every business needs customers. Keeping their customers once they have become a patron is the next goal. Many customer retention programs have been instituted by today's business owners. One of them is the "we will refund the difference to you if you find another retailer who is selling this product for less within 30 to 90 days of your original purchase." This is an excellent customer retention plan because it instills a feeling in the customer that they will always get the best value and value is an important part of the purchase equation when we are spending our money. But consumers rarely take advantage of this great policy, primarily because they have no way of keeping track of the other retailer's prices.

There is a solution called Price Protectr (http://www.priceprotectr.com). Price Protectr is a free internet based service which will help you get your price-drop refund. They will send you an email message when the price of an item you have purchased within your purchasing retailers covered time period is available for less at another retailers. To take advantage of this service you must supply Price Protectr a link to the item you purchased on the store's web site, whether you made the purchase online or at the retailer's brick and mortar location, your email address, and the price you paid for the item. Then you wait for a notification when a price drop refund is due you.

Price Protectr does offer some customization options for those who sign up for a Price Protectr account. You can select not to be notified if a price drop is less than a dollar and also track your buying history. Some retailer's price drop refund policy exclude items purchased online. Price Protectr tracks the price only at the store where you purchased the item and only online retailer. You must track it at other stores on your own to take advantage of such a policy.

Price Protectr provides you with instructions on how to request a refund from the various retailers and includes a link to the retailer's price drop refund policies. Their list of supported vendors is always growing. This free web based service makes collecting price-drop refunds easy. In the future they may add the ability to track competitive store prices, which would be a great add-on enhancement. Price Protectr is a new service with limited capabilities. See how well they track a major purchase of yours. Who knows, you just may end up with a chunk of unexpected change.
