Free Sirius Satellite Radio from Amazon.com Or Walmart

My wife is currently in college while working part time, so she spends more than two hours in the car every week going to and from all of her engagements. When I asked her what she wanted for Christmas this year, she said a satellite radio would be perfect since she had to drive around so much, and her CD's were all starting to get old.

I am a pretty decent bargain shopper, so I hit the web looking at every site from Circuit City, Sam's Club, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Newegg, Crutchfield and more. After reading countless reviews and comparing features, I ended up finding a killer deal at both Amazon.com and Walmart.com.

Amazon has the Sirius Stratus 4 on sale for $48.94. While that may not sound like the best price around, you should know that it comes with a $50 rebate when you sign up for the Sirius satellite radio service. You're going to have to pay for the service no matter what, but you actually make money on this deal. $1.06, to be exact. It might not be much, but it's still better than free!

Many retailers have this same radio for sale at various prices, but the rebate is only honored through a few stores, such as Amazon.com. For example, Circuit City sells this radio for only $19.99, but the rebate would not be honored if purchased from them. If I bought this radio from them, I'd be out $19.99 plus tax, so it wouldn't be that great a deal. I'm not quite sure why Sirius is being selective about which retailers they will rebate, but as a consumer I think I am getting the best end of the deal.

I did notice that they will honor the rebate if you buy this radio at Wal-Mart, where it sells for only $38.64, but that does not include shipping if purchased online. Good luck finding it in stock at your local store. If you do, you'll be getting an even better deal that you would at Amazon!
