Free Slurpee Day 2009 Coming to a 7-Eleven Near You
7-Eleven is Hosting a Free Slurpee Day on Saturday, July 11, to Celebrate Their 82nd Birthday
During free Slurpee day 2009, all 7-Eleven customers will be able to enjoy a free 7.11 ounce Slurpee. It's a relatively small serving, so you won't be overcome by a sugar coma or anything, and the intent is for new customers to fall in love with the cool treat. Most of the 7-Eleven stores will be running the promotion, but you might want to check ahead (just in case) if the plan is to bring a group of kids to enjoy the free Slurpee promotion. It the local 7-Eleven store in your neck of the woods is having the free Slurpee promotion, they will probably be advertising for it as well.
7-Eleven typically runs a number of promotions in coordination with their Slurpee sales, and this summer is no exception. They currently have a tie-in with the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra film that will be coming out this summer, and have a new flavor called Liquid Artillery (strawberry pineapple lime) to go along with it. The free Slurpee day promotion will just help to draw attention to the numerous posters that litter most 7-Eleven stores around the country right now. Also expect that flavors of the Slurpee drinks will be different at each location, as the stores themselves go with what is hot in a given sector.
The free Slurpee day promotion will only be taking place on Saturday, July 11th, and it will be easy to discern which cups will apply to the free Slurpee. They are slightly smaller than the normal "small" cup, and hold 7.11 ounces of the drink. Some stores keep these promotional cups at the main counter, so if you are at a participating location and don't see the cups, feel free to ask the cashier. It's a great promotion to run during the summer, and the free Slurpee day at 7-Eleven is definitely going to be a big attraction for many families on Saturday.

YAYYYY Slurpeeees! Great article!
Technically it isn't false advertisement since it does say that some stores might not participate.
Oklahoma 7-11 wish not to participate. Which is against all the promotions out there. If nothing else this is false advertisements.
I lied. Icee = Slurpee. Or so one person thinks. Let's start the debate
I guess they used to call these Icees before they were Slurpees ? I've had an Icee once, but I thought they branched Icee off into its own brand outside of 7-Eleven. Anyway, nice article!
