Free Up Space in Your Home for Less
We Had to Take Action, Spring Cleaning was Not Enough to Give Us the Space We Needed!
After doing a bit of internet searches, window shopping, magazine reviewing, and Spouse-consulting we opted for one of the 8' x 12.5' Lifetime storage sheds. One of the main reasons to go with this product is we did not want to have to lock horns with the local building permit department. If you build a shed that is "moveable" which this one is, it does not require the agony of going through securing a permit to put it on the property. (Please do check your local building codes though; they may not be the same). We were able to pick up the shed at our local Lowes store, (turns out they carried the Lifetime product line). The boxes slid into the back of our truck without too many issues. The Lifetime instructions were great, they told us everything we needed to know, from the tools that were required to each construction step that was easy to follow. And I might add that I have a natural "mental block" when it comes to reading instructions! Everything we needed was there; we did not run out of pieces or parts.
The shed is commonly built on a concrete slab or wood platform, we opted for the pressure-treated wood platform, so we had to purchase the wood and built the platform, (which was extra) but the entire process only took one weekend to complete. The instructions listed eleven tools to construct the shed but I only needed a Phillips screwdriver to do the majority of the work. The fitting of each piece was not difficult; I did not run into any major fitting problems with the panels, doors, trusses, etc... We only wish we could have said this about every product we have ever purchased in the past! We now have had the shed up for about two years and have to say are very pleased with the results so far. The shed easily stores our riding lawn mower, another smaller push mower, a power washer, a large garbage can, two ladders, all the gardening tools, and a multitude of other small tools, pots, boards, etc... The shed is easy to clean since it is constructed of heavy plastic panels; we used a power-washer to clean it up quickly without any issues. It can also be taken apart and moved if you ever have the need. In conclusion we are happy consumers, and the big payoff is we get our two-car garage back again!
