Free Subscriptions of Your Favorite Magazine on the Internet

Sam
Households across America share a common problem: the magazine pile. Each new month adds yet another tier to the already teetering stack. Conquering the pile remains one more item of a growing to-do list and enjoying the contents seems like a distant dream.

The solution? Save money, save a few trees, and cancel the subscriptions. Get used to a new kind of leisure time reading, via the internet.

Cancel, Cancel, Cancel
Head to the phone, the mail box, or to the magazine's online customer service center to cancel your subscription. You will most likely be refunded the money for any issues you have yet to receive.

Explore
Sit down at the computer during your lunch hour and get acquainted with the websites that belong to your favorite magazines. You will immediately feel at home as editors will have gone to great lengths to ensure that the website is complementary to the magazine itself. The same voice and tone (i.e. the "feel") of the magazine will be there.

Take a good look around at what the site has to offer. Much of the same information contained within the hard copy of the magazine is often on-line. The information may be condensed in comparison to the print copy--even better for those who want the information but feel as though they are too busy to devote the time to sit down and read the magazine.

Sometimes new material from the current issue shows up at the site at the same time. Other information from the magazine might not make it onto the site until it is considered to be out of date information, or in other words, information from a back issue. Unless the magazine is a financial publication, this will be of little consequence.

Many sites require you to become a "user" at the site. The sign up process is quick and painless and the most you will need is a valid email address. It is worth signing up to be a user because it will likely grant you access to parts of the site that would otherwise be off limits.

Become A Regular
If you are really going to say goodbye to the traditional version of your favorite magazine(s), don't deny yourself the enjoyment that the magazine brings you. Make a concerted effort to regularly visit the magazine's website--at least once a month, but you might consider making it a habit to visit the site a few times a week because many sites like these are frequently updated.

Consider the bold move of canceling your subscriptions a treat to both the environment and your wallet while simultaneously eliminating a major source of clutter in your home.
