Free Subway Gift Card Scam on Facebook

A new scam is on Facebook today that is offering a free gift card from Subway, claiming that it is a promotion for their foot long sandwiches. The Subway scam claims that you'll get a free Subway gift card for just clicking on the "Like" Facebook button, and they suggest you share it with your friends. The Better Business Bureau has verified with Subway that this "promotion" is indeed a scam and not associated with their company by any means.

The BBB warns about clicking on the "Like" or other such buttons because the scammers may be trying to get your Facebook account's info, such as your password. It's suggested that you change your password if you have visited and clicked on any of the fake site's buttons. The fake web site's URL is www.footlongspromotion.com

The fake Subway promotion site also wants you to complete offers, some which try to collect your credit card number and other such information.

It's always fun and exciting to find something free on the internet, but just like the old saying goes, there's no thing as a free lunch. And it's also important to remember that when something is too good to be true, it probably is.
