Free Summer Activities in New Jersey

LubbyPop
New Jersey is certainly a state that is packed with free summer activities for the entire family. With so many festivals, concerts, farms and beaches with activities to choose from, I enjoy rotate between each of them and keep the things we enjoy on a list. Check out some of the activities that made it to my families list and give it a try for you and your family.

Visit Pier village in Long Branch New Jersey for Movies under the Stars in the months of July and August. Typical movies are family friendly and with the back drop of the Atlantic Ocean, it is spectacular. The sky is covered with the twinkle of the stars and it is just a bunch of fun. Visit http://www.piervillage.com/ for show times and dates.

Visit Terhune Orchards anytime of the year but in the summer they have recently started a summer camp program for children between the ages of 7 and 10 to learn about farming and how nature and farmer work together to grow fruits and vegetables. It is a hands on program which include activities for children to identify insects, how to pick and prepare fruits and vegetables, and pest management practices. Visit www.terhuneorchards.com for more details.

Visit the East Jersey Olde Towne Village located in Piscataway NJ. You can take a tour of the village which is a collection of typical 18th and 19th century homes located in New Jersey. Many of the homes are original, while others are replicas. It is a nice tour and does a great job of preserving our history. For details on tours please visit http://www.co.middlesex.nj.us/culturalheritage/village.asp.

Although not much is free these days, I can assure you that the above family and budget friendly activities are family pleasers.

To God Be All The Glory. I was looking for something to do with approximately 50 seniors ages 65 plus. It would be nice to do something for them at a reasonable cost or free.
