Now that summer is here, you may be looking for free summer activities in Pittsburgh, PA. There are a multitude of activities in the Pittsburgh area that are cheap and even free. Trying to keep kids entertained in the summer months can prove to be a daunting task; however, there free summer activities in Pittsburgh can make that a little bit easier.

Citiparks Farmers' Markets

The farmers market can be a great place for kids to learn about fruits and vegetables. It is also a great place for them to meet local farmers and learn the importance of fruits and vegetables in their diets. Dollar Bank Cinema in the Park

What can be better than a free movie? Starting in early June until the end of August, you can enjoy a free movie with your family and friends. Station Square

Station Square offers many things to grab the kids attention. For the month of August every Sunday at Sunset, Station Square is having Movies of the Mon. The free movies include: E.T.,Ghost Busters, Back to the Future, and Ghost Busters. There is a fountain show from 9am until midnight everyday at Bessemer Court. There are many more free summer activities you can enjoy in Pittsburgh. Although they are yearly events, they only happen once over each summer. Weekend community festivals, Three Rivers Art Festival, Wings over Pittsburgh Airshow and many more, take place each year and are free admission.
