Atlanta summers are sunny and hot, with temperatures generally in the 90's along with high humidity. A dip in one of the many swimming pools in Atlanta can provide relief from the hot weather, and some fun for the kids as well. But summer season swim passes are expensive, running anywhere between $225 to $500 for family passes.
However, there are several swimming pools in Atlanta that offer free swim time for several hours during the day. No swim passes needed during these times, but pool rules must still be observed.
Grant Park Pool, located in Grant Park at 625 Park Avenue in Atlanta, offers free swim time from Monday to Friday, from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
Piedmont Park Aquatic Center is located in Piedmont Park on 1071 Piedmont Avenue in Atlanta. Their free swim time is on Monday to Friday, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Garden Hills Pool and Recreation Center, located at 335 Pine Tree Drive in Atlanta, offers free swim time from Monday to Friday, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
