Tai Chi is also known or referred to as "Meditation in Motion" because your body is moving in a gentle, slow, and calming way. You aren't required to do any aerobics, weights, or other strenuous exercises when you practice Tai Chi which makes it great for those that have a difficult time trying to get fit.
Unlike other exercise or fitness classes you don't have to have special equipment or apparel; only an area where you're free to move in and an environment that promotes relaxation.
There are 3 steps/kinds of Tai Chi to be practiced. Beginners usually learn posture through various movements which is called the "Yang Family Form." Next they'll learn the "Chen's Form," and finally the "Tai Chi Sword Form." Once all of the forms are learned a person will be able to practice them at their own pace and when they are available; such as at their home. They only take a few minutes to complete; which is great for those that have a hard time completing an exercise class that usually lasts an hour.
Tai Chi classes are forming here in the Papillion area of Nebraska and take place year-round, Monday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The best thing about this class is its 100 % free; thanks to the "Papillion Recreation Center" and the "Omaha Tai Chi Association."
Classes are held at the "Papillion Recreation Center" located at 1100 West Lincoln Street in Papillion and registration is not required.
If you have any questions regarding this free class please call 402-597-2041 or log on to www.omahataichi.com.
