Colorado Springs is a wonderful place to visit, and the park system is wonderful. The city itself may be isolated from other cities, however, the Colorado Springs park system provides locals and visitors with many downtown area parks that are free to visit, such as the Bear Creek Canyon Park.

Even on a Sunday, aside from walking in and out of the churches, there are a lot of places to go around downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. The weather is beautiful during the summer months, and the city of Colorado Springs maintains the public spaces extremely well. There are beautiful sculptures and gardens throughout this clean city.

For instance, there are local parks around Colorado Springs, such as Bear Creek Canyon Park, North Cheyenne Canon Park, Memorial Park, Palmer Park, Quail Lake Park, Homestead Park, Douglas Creek Open Space, Sondemann Park, Kissing Camels Park, Bear Creek Regional Park, and Middle Shooks Run Park.

The Garden of the Gods may have an admission charge, however Colorado Springs city parks do not charge an admission fee. These are excellent parks to visit for a relaxing day outdoors.

There are also breweries, all of which offer a free tour of the downtown brewery at certain scheduled times, some of which offer free samples, however, the fine microbrewery ales cost money and a tip per serving. These microbreweries include Phantom Canyon, Rock Bottom and Arctic Craft Breweries; there is also the Il Vicino Restaurant and Brewery in the downtown area.

The Young Professionals Meeting meets at the Rock Bottom Brewery every other Thursday night at 8pm. This is a meeting for the best and the brightest young executives in the area. The meeting at the Rock Bottom Brewery will include a free tour of the brewery.

The Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau, located downtown, has many free pamphlets for visitors to look at that provide more information about local attractions, some of which are free.

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs has a few free exhibits, that are open during the week. This is a relaxing campus to visit in the summer months.
