Brandon, MS 39042
United States of America
Although it wasn't our first trip to Brandon, we had previously overlooked a wonderful little nook in the area. It sits behind the police department and library in downtown Brandon. Easy to access, easy to leave when trying to get back onto the main highway.
The park has a beautiful playground area, which is clean and perfect for the children to play in, a great place for the adults to relax, and offers photographic backgrounds like no other. If you want some family, individual, or pet shots while outdoors, this is the place. The playground equipment and area is kept neat and is well-maintained.
The park offers gorgeous shade trees and other plant life to provide recreation for your eyes. There's nothing like getting in tune with nature in the right setting. It is peaceful and relaxing and can help center one's thoughts as well as provide the atmosphere for the bonding experience with your friends or family.
There is a delightful little pond in the park woods, with a cute and sturdy bridge to cross. Picnic tables, huge boulders, and hiking trails provide outdoor entertainment for the outdoor enthusiasts and pets. There are fish in the pond for the delight of the young children. The hiking is also great for the children who need to expend some of their pent-up energy!
This park is pleasing to the eyes, ears, and soul. It helps bring alive the spirit while soothing the troubled mind.
Near the park is a tiny little Rankin County Museum. Homeschoolers should enjoy a tiny bit of history and also can visit the nearby library. This combination makes the park a fabulous visit package for the family who learns together. Who can resist such a combination with the added bonus of taking along the family dog? Everyone wins. Who knew our dogs would take us on such a quality-filled journey!
If you haven't visited Brandon, Mississippi, I definitely give the park a thumbs up. The nearby library is classy, air conditioned, has fresh cold water fountains, and offers quality books to entertain the children as well as computers for the older youth and adults. The decorative displays are to be envied.
For extra value, take a tour through Brandon's neighborhoods. The housing and landscaping are pleasing to the eye, interesting, and well-maintained. The countryside provides a delight to nature lovers and those who enjoy a quiet drive.
Finally, there is history in the graveyards for those interested in the artistic value or for genealogical reasons.
