The Grassy Knoll

While a trip inside of the Texas School Book Depository will cost you an admission fee, it is free to walk around where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963. This area is always full of visitors and you will likely hear many conspiracy theorists tell their version of the Kennedy assassination.

Galleria Dallas

The Galleria is a great place to visit if you are in the Dallas area and is home to many great stores and restaurants. It's a great place to walk around and if you are in the mood for a little ice skating you are in for a treat. The Galleria is home to an indoor ice rink that has seen performers such as Kristi Yamaguchi, Brian Boitano and Tara Lipinski put on a show. The Galleria is also a place where stars such as Tom Cruise, Janet Jackson and Kevin Costner have been spotted.

Fountain Place

In Downtown Dallas you will find a place where the water dances up and down and a hot summer day can be cooled down in just seconds. Fountain Place is comprised of 172 fountains with 360 computer-driven water jets that will give any visitor a sight to behold.

Mary Kay Cosmetics World Headquarters

Most everybody has heard of Mary Kay. The story of the incredible woman who became a business pioneer is open for all to see and enjoy. The museum holds many historical items from the highly acclaimed Mary Kay founder as well as displays the original line of Mary Kay Cosmetics from 1963. Museum Hours: Self-guided tours are available 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST (Monday through Friday). Guided tours are available at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (Monday through Friday). Super Model Train

The largest permanent model train in the country calls Dallas home. This free exhibit, which is comprised of eight simultaneously running trains, is located in the Children's Medical Center lobby.

Grapevine Mills (Mall)

Just a few minutes outside of Dallas is the beautiful city of Grapevine, Texas and is home to Grapevine Mills. The Mills is a one story building but is home to many great stores and even houses one of the few Rainforest Cafes in the country. A great place to visit if you like to shop, eat or just relax.

Deep Ellum

Deep Ellum is a favorite of many Big-D visitors and locals. The intrigue of Deep Ellum is found in the cultural experience that visitors get to enjoy. Along with its lively jazz scene, Deep Ellum is packed with an assortment of galleries, restaurants and shops. Be sure to take some time and visit Deep Ellum on your Dallas vacation.
