If you're looking for fun and free things to appreciate all of the mother's in your life including adopted-mothers, mothers-in-law, mother nature, step-mothers, and the kindliest woman you know, consider these options in the Seattle area.

Help Beautify Auburn and Give Back to Mother Nature

The city of Auburn is hosting a clean up event and is looking for volunteers to clean up the area around on and off ramps and paint over graffiti. This is such a good idea, maybe other towns will follow suit and maybe some artists will do some approved and beautiful urban graffiti.

For more information about the Auburn event see:http://www.auburnwa.gov/government/News/2009_News_Stories/Volunteers_Sought_For_Annual_Clean_Sweep_Event_to_Help_Beautify_Auburn.asp

See a Unique Smithsonian Visit and Take a Long Walk

The Renton History Museum is hosting Key Ingredients: America By Food, a Smithsonian Institution travelling exhibit, from March 21 through May 9 and Sustaining A City, a Renton History Museum exhibit. The Renton History Museum is across the street from the Cedar River walking trail with lots of blooming cherry trees.

Let Mom Have A Break While the Children Play

The Children's Museum at the Seattle Center is offering help supervising children at play on Mother's Day for free. Why not let Mom wander around the fountain, shops and have a good time while the children have a fun experience in the play garden doing nature based crafts.

See the Children's Museum website for more details:

Visit the Woodland Park Zoo

Well, this one isn't free, but I liked how Macy's is helping promote the zoo by offering $10 t-shirts that get you into the zoo and a number of free activities.

See the Woodland Park Zoo web page for more details:

Whatever you do for mom on Mother's Day, it doesn't have to cost a lot of money. Free events like these can entertain and provide a unique experience for the entire family. So why not pay attention to all your mom's and keep your budget safe on Mother's Day.
