As a designer and freelance writer, the number of hours I spend on the Internet are staggering. Seriously, it isn't uncommon for me to spend more than 30 hours a week on the Internet - without factoring in geeky entertainment and pleasure. No, those hours are spent doing research and actual work.
During all that time, the number of absolutely too-cool finds I run across for designers could easily fill an encyclopedia set of books.
Every weekday, I will post the best free tutorials, resources, tips, tricks, and so on for fellow designers. Nothing is off-limits; we're talking everything from icon sets to fonts, vectors to brushes, textures and patterns and layered PSD files.
You are welcome to share more freebies in the comments - please keep them on-topic, though. Do you want to be the first to know when the latest freebies and articles are posted? Subscribe to the Graphic Designer Resources rss feed or subscribe to Phebe Durand's articles to be notified via email when a new article is published.
Graphic Designer Freebie: Free Vector Print Templates (Brochures, Cards, Flyers, etc.)
Every designer runs into one common problem: having the right size ready when making a new print project. We run around websites, look for printer templates, or start from scratch and make a layout based on the dimensions given by the printer.
Regardless, it takes up valuable time that could be used to much better purpose.
Beyond helpful, this set of vector templates include a ton of vector layouts in the standard dimensions for print projects like flyers, business cards, billboards (to scale), letterhead, CD covers, brochures, and posters. The designs include full bleed and trim lines as well as safety lines and even score lines where necessary.
What's coolest of all about this freebie? If you're a printer, you can brand these babies easily (the designer has given full permission and has left them purposefully unbranded to this end) and provide them to your customers as a guide for submitted artwork. Believe me, this kind of small attention to detail can make a huge difference.
• Freebie Type: Standard Vector Files (.eps) and CS
• Usage Limitations: None
