Tips for Converting Centimeters to Inches

*One centimeter equals 0.393700787 inches. Since the third number past the decimal is a three, the conversion number to use .39.

For example, piece fifteen, the measurement across the rectangular piece from one end to the center is seventeen centimeters. That converts to 6.7 inches.

*Take note of where the measurements are placed on the sections for each of the pattern pieces. This will tell you the width and length needed for each piece of paper and fabric needed for the different parts of the dress.

*Once you have the measurements converted from centimeters to inches, it will be easier to figure the amount of yards you will need for the fabric. Twelve inches equals a foot. Three feet equals a yard.

*You will need to also figure the width of fabric needed for the widest part of the dress. This can be done with piece fourteen and the largest number across the top to the right. The largest number at the bottom on the left is the length this piece of fabric will need to be. Follow this part for each of the rest of the pieces.
