Free White Noise Websites for Babies

Babies go through growth spurts, teething, and learn new skills at the speed of light. It's no doubt that these kind of changes are cause for many a sleepless night for baby and at least one parent. Many new and experienced moms and dads alike have the same problems with their children getting to sleep and staying asleep for a reasonable amount of time. This is where the use of white noise comes in as an aid for parents to help their babies get to sleep better and longer. White noise is defined as a sound signal or frequency that the human ear hears as a calming hiss. It is created by using the whole spectrum of frequencies that we can hear, instead of just one sound. White noise is the type of sound that babies hear when they are inside of the womb. This makes the theory believable that they have grown accustomed to the quietly working sounds of the mother, and thus those same types of sounds are more comforting to them. The lack of that sound may be part of the cause for some children's sleepless nights. So what types of sounds would be classified as white noise? Well, the wind blowing lightly, waves crashing, or waterfalls are considered to be calming examples. I am sold on the use of white noise, as I have a child going through a growth period who is having trouble sleeping. Her favorite sound is that of the ocean, and it helps her to get off to sleep much easier than without it. I also find it relaxing to play any water sounds as we drift off to sleep. If you're having trouble getting your baby to sleep or to sleep for adequate amounts of time, then you should give white noise a try. Although the majority of websites will charge you to download some white noise, there are a few websites which offer free downloads for anyone to use.

One website where they offer up several white noise sounds that you can download for free is http://www.calm-your-screaming-baby.com/soothing-sounds.html. These files are the same sounds for babies with colic. Children can feel the need to avoid sleep due to discomfort from illness or anxiety. This website also offers lullabies, calming tips, as well as other resources. The author is also helpful in that, you can always email and ask questions about using the white noise files, or transferring them to cd. It's one good alternative to purchasing an expensive disk, or one of those white noise machines.

Here at http://cantonbecker.com/music/white-noise-sleep-sounds/, they have several free MP3 files which you can download at no cost. They have instructions for PC and Mac users, as well as directions for recording on cd or onto your Ipod. There is a free ambient music page for those who like more of a melody to put their baby to sleep. This website's author also is available through email for questions related to baby's sleeping and the use of white noise.

Last but not least, is http://www.pediasleep.com/ which has free download links for two samples of white noise. They are a paid site, but that is optional to the user as to whether or not they would like to purchase products or just get the free downloads. They have good quality clips, and are available for questions through customer support. Their oceans clip is what I play on my laptop computer in Real Player to get my daughter to sleep and stay peacefully resting.
