Free New Year's Eve 2008 Fireworks Displays in New York City

Will you be in New York City for New Year's Eve 2008 and needing to know where to go to see a magnificent fireworks show? Here are the top places in New York City hosting fireworks shows on New Year's Eve:

1) Fireworks show at Grand Army Plaza- Located in Prospect Park in Brooklyn at midnight December 31, 2007. This free fireworks show will light up the sky with images of flowers, and whistles and other new surprises so keep your eyes peeled for new exciting imagery. They will be shot off at the park's northern section to cascade over the Memorial Arch of Grand Army Plaza. If you can find a parking spot on Flatbush Avenue or Prospect Park West then you're in luck because those are the best most convenient places to park.

Grand Army Plaza is made up of the surrounding streets of Eastern Parkway, Flatbush Avenue and Prospect Park West. If driving from the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge take Flatbush to Grand Army Plaza. If you are driving BQE take Tillary St. Exit left on Flatbush Avenue to Grand Army Plaza. If coming by subway take train 2 or 3 to Grand Army Plaza or Q train to 7^th Avenue. 2) Times Square Fireworks Show- December 31, 2007 at 11:59pm. The fireworks show immediately follows the ball dropping ceremony. For the best view of fireworks show in the bay after the ball drops is from a cruise or ferry. If you cannot afford to take a cruise then you can travel down to Times Square. Arrive before noon in order to get a good viewing spot. According to www.newyorkled.com, the best viewing spot for the screen is on One Times Square where the ball is dropped. An additional screen will be set up on Broadway and 50^th, Broadway and 54^th, and Broadway and 58^th and Broadway and 52^nd. The sound system will be set up at Broadway and Seventh. There are some restaurants in the area that have views of show but book your reservation well in advance call and book as early as possible.
