The subject of art. Can it really be defined? Can in really be classified? It is wide open in so many ways, and in so many ways it represents freedom. Freedom synonymous with art? So it seems.
I feel very fortunate in that expressing myself artistically comes easy for me. I know it is a coveted talent to be proficient in art, but one does not necessarily need to be good at it to be artistic. This is a liberating statement. A creative license.
Art is so subjective. Most art I find pleasing, does not automatically mean I would like to display it in my home. Most art for me is better left in place, for others to behold. So much of what I find pleasing still falls short when it comes to what I would hang on my walls.
Art is easy to like all at once. I find that it is not helpful to be of the mindset where one prefers one type of art over another. Often I will hear statements from people claiming they prefer realism over abstract, or colorful over neutral. It never serves me to be of the kind of mind that cannot accept all of it as it is.
It is never about this is better than that, or this medium is better than that other one; i.e. as in cats are better than dogs, or Chevrolet is better than Toyota, etc.
Set your vistas on all things loose of these self applied restrictions. Apply freedom in the way you see and experience each and every nuance in your world. Let go of the automatic tendency of preferring "this" over "that" and you will find your mind in a happier, more stimulating, refreshing place.
