Stockpiling bitterness and hatred on a shelf
Allowing negativity to slowly seep it's spite
In the face of those contesting, pleading and contrite
Resentment spreads throughout the body like cancer
Producing further hatred an erroneous answer
Mentally returning to the point of contention
Raises blood pressure further increases tension
Unrelenting abhorrence drains life out each vessel
Causing peace of mind and turmoil to wrestle
Clinging to what's destructive, leaving no room for good
Often times someone was simply misunderstood
Focusing on past hurts, motionless licking wounds
Prohibits vision of the future or being attuned
Unable to decipher as sincerity makes approach
Busy meditating rehearsed lines of reproach
Declining the antidote of forgiveness distorts identity
Hinders joy, contentment and a sense of serenity
Adhere to what's uplifting allowing exoneration to flow
Dragging the past behind you limits how far you can go

Post a CommentYou are a true poet. One should also learn to forgive oneself. That's something I'm struggling with right now.
I loved this the last four lines just grab me thanks five starts!!!!!
it's good to forgive, but sometimes the pain is so deep that it's hard to forgive, i personally am having a hard time forgiving people that messed up my relationships, but through my writing im curing my wounds little by little.good write.peace.
Yup another masterpiece. I can always expect to get nothing less than perfection from your work. The one thing I have found in my own experience is that sometimes we forgive other people and then wonder why bitterness is still there...well because we sometimes forget to forgive ourselves too, so to everyone out there that hasn't let go yet.......don't forget to forgive yourself.....Great work!!!
