Javanx3d's Top Ten AC Producing Articles as of President Obama's Inauguration
Ok, so that title is more of so I don't forget when I wrote this article...Anyway, one of the things I wish I could see as a CP on AC is how many page views other CP's articles have obtained to help me determine whether a topic has been worth writing or not based on history of views. You get a limited view of this when researching trends via www.google.com/trends/hottrends, but it is still not the same. So, if it helps anyone else create good content, here are my top 10 AC articles with respect to the measure of page views.

Useless Facts Regarding Javanx3d's Online Freelance Writing Content
If you are an AC content producer (CP), then you are well aware of how freelance writers are paid by thousand page views based on one's overall cloud level. For the uninformed, the AC CP pay scale varies from $1.50 to $2.00 per thousand unique article views depending on how many total views and articles one has published. Right now, I'm at clout level 8 out of 10 ($1.60 USD per thousand views) and will be a while before reaching the next level. To date, my average views per article is 733.5. For my top ten articles the average view per article is 5,814.4. Prior to the College Football bowling season, my average views per article was approximately 380. View statistics are based on 114 published articles from 27 October 2008 to January 12, 2009.
Online Freelance Writing Niches
When I first started writing for AC, I was a bit scattered on the topics I would choose. Mike Grisso then provided some great advice on choosing a niche that personally interested me to focus on for regular content production. I took his advice and began focusing on SEC Football. Within that niche, I also focused on Kentucky and Florida and other related content. I began to expand to other sports, teams and individuals while sporadically taking a break to write on other content areas. I'm still a little surprised that the short article I wrote a while back on websites to find Hank Basket pictures has performed so well, but so goes online content production!
Developing Article Topics for Freelance Writing Content Creation
There really isn't a Holy Grail in this area for making money freelance writing, but a great place to jump-start the pysche when stuck on topics is Google Trends. Updated daily on at-least an hourly basis, GoogleTrends provides the top 100 topics being searched on the Internet as well as related articles and keywords. Many of AC's same-day Calls for Content come from this listing, however, you can catch a number of topics on your own or in parallel from what AC puts out for calls. A few times, I have been caught by AC not publishing a call until on its way down on GoogleTrends, so that is a decision one needs to make with respect to self-publishing or going through AC. The up-side in this case is you have a higher chance of an AC partner using you content when going through a call, however, does that matter if the majority of the viewing public is done with the topic? To-date, I'd have to say I normally go with AC 60% of the time and self publish the other 40% based off of the time of day and where the topic is trending.
