"Freelance Writing Online: A Guide For Beginners" by Suzanne Alicie: An Ebook Review
What is in the Book?
Suzanne guides the reader step-by-step through the most elementary (yet essential) elements of beginning a freelance writing career. She accurately begins at the very beginning: choosing what name you write under.
This is an essential element of any writing career: choose wrong and you could could flounder at the gate; change your name mid-stream and risk alienating all of your original fans. Readers are advised to follow her advice on this section especially.
She continues the journey through setting up a payment method and continues on to securing the very first paid writing gig. The website she chooses is one of the best out there, but it must be noted that there are other options available that this text does not discuss.
From this foundation website she instructs the reader toward the next step: the better paying writing jobs. She covers this section by briefly mentioning a few websites that are considered "cream of the writing crop" when it comes to pay and work.
She advises the reader how to leverage the Internet to not only build the writer's brand, but to promote one's work and thus increase earnings.

What Are the Best Features of this Ebook?
The layout is clean and uncluttered, a very simple and professional layout that frames the information in an appropriate and tasteful manner. There is no flash for the sake of shock value within the design, and the author is tastefully subdued on her choices of color and layout. On the layout portion I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
The words and phrasing are easy to read, aimed at the average reader. Suzanne talks to the reader in a relaxed voice, leaving this reader to visualize fireside conversations with a mentor. She makes it very obvious that this is the book she wishes she had, and treats the reader with respect. On readability I also rate 5 out of 5 stars.
The author covers the most elementary aspects of freelance writing, sharing advice and information essential to a fledgling writing career; those new or considering a career in freelance writing will appreciate the knowledge contained within.
"Freelance Writing Online: A Guide For Beginners" by Suzanne Alicie: An Ebook Review
This reviewer wishes that Ms. Alicie would go more in depth on the subject and locations of paying websites, as well as offer alternatives to the beginning site that she recommends. While I personally agree with her choice, I feel that the fledgling writer would feel more empowered if given at least one alternate site to choose from, though more emphasis could still be placed upon the choice listed in the book. On the aspect of content I rate 4 out of 5 stars, due to brevity.
With these minor additions this reviewer feels that the purchase price of the book would be more than reasonable, but without them believes the price to be slightly on the high side. On this aspect of price I have to rate the book a 3 out of 5 stars.
Overall, I rate this book 4 stars out of a possible 5. This book is well-written, and while a bit on the brief side it does contain the essentials for beginning a freelance writing career, with nothing extra to distract the reader.
