Freeway Fury Flash Animation Video Game Review

Freeway Fury is a Flash-based racing game created by Newgrounds.com designer VascoF (Vasco Freitas), who worked on game design and programming. Artwork for this submission was done by VGS and Frederico Martins. Audio was credited to Francisco Furtado featuring AVC aos 25. This sports game was submitted to Newgrounds.com on July 21, 2010. Since then, it received a Daily 2nd Place award on July 22, 2010 as well as a Weekly 2nd Place award on July 28, 2010. It currently holds a score of 4.39 out of 5.00 based on votes by the Newgrounds community.

Game Controls

Use the arrow keys to steer the vehicle that you are controlling. Use the Left and Right arrow keys to move left and right, respectively. Pressing the Down arrow key will allow the driver to jump on to the roof of the vehicle that you were just controlling. Time slows down when the player is on the roof of a vehicle. Once on the roof of the car, you will be able to control the person's movements using the arrow keys. The Left and Right arrow keys will now allow the person to jump to nearby vehicles. Press the Down arrow key to enter the car that the person is standing on top of.

The Up arrow allows you to use Nitro boost.

Gameplay

Freeway Fury involves car-jumping, which is the act of jumping from the roof of one car to the next. This Flash animation will allow users to car jump as well as hijack vehicles. Players are scored based on the stunts performed in-game.

Jump from vehicle to vehicle as best as you can. Missing a vehicle will end the game.

Once the game ends, you will be shown a combo list along with your total score.

The types of combos possible are as follows:
-car jump
-long distance
-slam
-oncoming
-speed reversal
-close escape
-takedown

You can also receive time bonuses.

Performing stunts will increase the amount of nitro you can use to boost the speed of the vehicle you are driving.

Try to reach the end of the roadway without dying.

Game Review

Freeway Fury is a fun little Flash animation that is great for gamers of all kinds. It is easy to pick up but a little tougher to master, making it a great submission for those looking for a quick timekiller or a good solid game.

Freeway Fury scores an 8/10 for its solid gameplay. More stunts would be a great addition.
