If you do a Google search for "free websites", many results come up.
The catch, 1: with most free websites you do not get your own domain name but a sub-domain ( if you own one, some will allow you to use it). 2: The Host will put ads on your site, and only a few will allow you to put your own ads on your site. 3: limited space, but it is usually enough for a decent website. The most pages I have seen offered is three. 4: not all are equal in available features and templates.
I really like www.freewebs.com, it is totally 100% free. It started in 2001, one day three brothers figured that everyone would have a website like they do email address, so they thought to create a website building service that anyone could use. Over 17 million freewebs members around the world will tell you they have succeeded. If you have a internet connection you can make a site with Freewebs.com. You can create a single page or a full website with a blog, a profile, photo albums, music, videos and even e-commerce, it is easy and fun.
You are given an initial 40MB of space (3 pages), and 500Mb of bandwidth per month. Your site address will look like "http://www.freewebs.com/username" for free accounts, You can register a domain name and attach it to your account. Visit the Domains Help Section to find out more about this.
A new feature makes it so you can sell products easily through your site. They even have a step-by-step guide to setting up and building your online store. Also, you can create subscriptions or take donations on your website by using the Commerce features through account.
For free users, file uploading will be restricted to 750kb for the first week. You can personalize your template by adding your own images Some Templates work better than others for adding pictures and banners, try different templates and find what works best for you. Adding HTML and JavaScript codes to a paragraphs is easy once you figured out how. Most of the time using the insert HTML button works, but for many codes use the Raw HTML Paragraph Editor.
The help sections and guides are great; other Freewebs members will even help you.
Their goal is for you to upgrade your account, but do not worry they don't not pressure you to upgrade.
