You don't need to go to Paris or some expensive French restaurants to enjoy excellent French cuisine. The following books are more than enough for you to make your own French cuisine in the comfort of your own kitchen.

The Country Cooking of France (ISBN-10: 0811846466)

With over 250 recipes this cookbook written by Anne Willan would be a major delight for many people who wish to taste the flavor of France. You don't need to know French to understand the recipes. Anne uses French only when she has a good reason for it. She writes everything in an easy-to-follow and detailed manner and that is a big plus. The only drawback of this book is the scarcity of photos of the recipes. This is really a shame since most people will be left wondering about how the recipes would look like.

French Feasts: 299 Traditional Recipes for Family Meals and Gatherings (ISBN-10: 1584797940 )

First, let me tell you that this is not a book for the novices. You need to have some basic cooking skills and knowledge for this book to be useful. The recipes here, however, are really fabulous and the book itself is a work of art. You can find recipes for savory tarts, grating, patés, numerous main dishes, sauces and much more. Most of the recipes are accompanied with full page photographs. More than just a recipe book the author, Stephane Reynaud, also shares a bit of history, sports, laughs and every little bit of France in this book.

The readers are taken to the streets of Paris as the author, Ina Garten, walks to the shops, bakeries and markets searching for the perfect ingredients. Recipes are divided into lunch, dinner, desserts, vegetables, soup and salads. All delicious and quite easy to prepare. The only caveat is while the recipes are relatively easy to prepare most of them take plenty of time so this is not quite the choice for busy people looking for quick recipes.

French Cooking in Ten Minutes: Adapting to the Rhythm of Modern Life (ISBN-10: 086547480X)

For busy people this book would be very useful. Heaps of quick recipes can be found here. In minutes you can make soups, sauces, noodle dishes, salads, desserts, egg, fish and also meat dishes. One important thing worth noting is that the "Ten Minutes" claim should be revised since lots of the dishes
