Fresh Fall Fashion: What to Watch for in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania

Amanda Furbeck
It's fall in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania. The weather is getting crisper, the leaves are turning fabulous colors, and our fashion sense is gearing up for the cooler days ahead. Keep on the look out for the following trends to hit the runways, the concert scene, and maybe even your own wardrobe. There truly is something for everyone!

Skinny jeans have been around for a few seasons now, but they are getting a new look when you add a thigh high boots and a peasant top. Try dark shades of denim - dark blue wash or even black - for a more slimming effect. You can relax because today's skinny jeans are much more comfortable with a little spandex added in to give you breathing room. A blousy peasant top will cover figure flaws. Add a big wide belt to draw attention to your waist, and slip on a pair of chunky earrings for a little 'pizzaz.'

Not everyone is comfortable in skinny jeans, but everyone can find a blazer or cardigan that suits their figure. These cover-ups can cover over just about anything - jeans and a camisole, dockers and a t-shirt, or a pencil-skirt with a white button down blouse. These staples are as versatile as they are comfortable and flattering. Wear them on the weekend, to Sunday brunch, or off to work. Stretch your wardrobe by wearing that little black dress to work - just wear your blazer open over top and role up the sleeves, and complete your ensemble with some black tights and a pair of high heeled sandals.

On a side note, you can take that same little black dress and wear it with a white button down dress for a jump suit effect or over top of a contrasting turtle neck with tights and sandals.

Another hot look this fall is animal prints. Zebra stripes, snakeskin, leopard spots - anything goes. If you're really bold, find a great zebra print shift dress and wear with a wide belt. If subtlety is more your style, find a leopard print scarf to tie loosely around your neck. Animal prints make great accessories - try a snakeskin bag with your pants suit or a faux-fur vest with your boyfriend jeans on the weekend.

For a comfier style, opt for plaid! This isn't your old-fashioned, lumber jack look; keep your eyes peeled for plaid ruffled shirts for an updated, feminine take on an eighties trend. Another eighties style this fall: the bomber jacket. Do you still have yours? Bring it back out, or get yourself a fresh new one! Bomber jackets will keep you warm and stylish all winter long.

There is truly something for everyone in fashion this fall. Find your signature style among the trends here, or turn them inside out and create your own. Remember, for the most beautiful, fashion forward look, always wear your smile. It's the best accessory you've got!
