Fresh Make-Up Colors for Fall 2009

Tone it Down a Bit for the Cool Weather

If you like to keep up on the latest in fashion and make-up then, read on. I know you may think that when you find a good look you should stick with it but this isn't always true when it comes to make-up. You should change your look with the seasons. Right now the summer colors are slightly "loud". Fall is the time to tone down the color a little bit.

One way of getting the right color for fall is to take a look outside. See the leaves changing colors and choose your make-up colors accordingly. Look for oranges, browns, greens and grays for your eyes and mostly bare lips with just a hint of color.

When applying eyeshadow, try to mirror the sunset. Start with a darker shade at the bottom and gradually lighten up as you move upward on the eyelid.

Metallic shadows are great for fall because they add some shimmer to the boring, earthy tones.

Lips are best with a gloss rather than thick lipstick. Carmel and deep reds are good shades for fall, think carmel apple.

Blush really isn't needed during the day, just rely on that natural, rosy glow you have aquired over the summer.

As far as foundation goes, why not skip it and just use a tinted moisturizer. This will help you to avoid that "cakey" look and feel so you can face the world more naturally.

For evenings out you may want to go with a darker palette of colors.

For the eyes use a shimmery charcoal with smokey mascara and liner. Use a brick red blush and a similar shade for your lips.
