Friday's Stupid Headlines there's 2.

Smoke Pumped Onto Child's Skin for 'Divine Cigarette' Treatment

I would not call something that kills an estimated 443,000 smokers a year divine (CDC, 2011). Indonesia is one of the most populous countries in the world with approximately 245 million inhabitants, roughly 60 million smokers are believed to reside in the country. Smoking is so accepted by the general public that many smokers began smoking cigarettes as early as 15 years old.

The theoretical doctor Sutiman Bambang Sumitro, a molecular biology professor, believes that, "Toxins can be modified to benefit health, It also is possible to eliminate free radicals to reduce health risks to smokers and passive smokers" (Meyersohn,2011).

In the video a three year old named Satrio is being treated with cigarette smoke pumped onto his skin in an effort to treat hyper activity. The doctor contends that his "cigarettes" are divine and different from other forms of cigarette tobacco.

The things that make you go hmmmm.

It's Taylor Swift vs. four guys for top CMA award

Taylor Swift Vs. Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, and Brad Paisley. The battle of all battles! Can Taylor do it? Find out on WWE Raw (for some reason or another) on SyFy! This week's starter headline at a glance inspired the vision of Taylor Swift opening a can of whipping tail on some of country music's finest. A mental image of CMA call letters standing for Celebrity Martial Arts topped off the giggles.

The internet and television with all the possibilities these mighty two encompass there is a price. Do we get what we pay for from our cable and satellite providers?

Do you agree with the situations rising up involving contract disputes between cable service providers and broadcasters?

Is the general viewing public really so mundane in the scheme of greed that they do not matter?

In answer to the first question cable and satellite companies are at the mercy of the broadcasters concerning content. The cable companies have provided Network and other broadcaster content since its conception. Broadcasters, however, continue to provide the general public with the old, the re-ran, the OMG how many times can one person see and LIKE that same movie!!!

Second question, being a victim of a similar described dispute, the answers NO on that one. The broadcasters generate a lot of money on the same old same old ($o$o) year after year. Once again cable and satellite companies are at the mercy of the broadcasters and some like Mediacom cable have stuck to their guns at a cost to the general public. The doplar radar channel along with WANE TV were dropped from the Mediacom channel line-up due to contract disputes with LIN Media.

The last question short and sweet...in a nutshell yip pretty much. DSL cable on a seven (7) megabyte (mb) plan through Mediacom internet service only manages to get 1.5mb to 2.3mb on the download. After visiting Speedtest.net at many different time periods from early morning to late night anger set in seeing no improvement in connection speed. The company claimed internet traffic was the reason for lower speeds sometimes. This was found to be untrue with speeds maintaining between 1.5mb to 2.3mb consistently.

This not providing the service being paid for or the quality expected within plan description. In these examples it is shown that both obviously have their shortfalls. The summation within the buying public and opinion, is that with either broadcasters or providers we are constantly under the gun of the coddling slice.

Oh, BTW, Taylor Swift is probably gonna whoop 'em, yee-haw!
