Friendship: Do You Have an Ethel for a Friend

Oprah has Gayle, Lucy had Ethel, Neese has Kim. Well the last two really aren't friends just a car wreck gone public and to the horror of it all, people just can't look away.

Every woman deserves to have a best friend, who will be there no matter what.....always there through thick and thin.

To have a friend that will laugh with you when you need a good laugh and cry when you need a good cry. Every woman needs their Ethel to tell you when you have gone too far and make you face reality. She won't smile at you in your face and then break you down behind your back. There were times when Lucy and Ethel had their tiffs but they always manage to come back together before the episode was over. Too bad life isn't as easy and simple that you can correct a matter in 30 minutes.

Some may be wondering exactly who is Ethel and Lucy...they were the female comedic actress who costarred on I Love Lucy.

When Lucy with get that gleam in her eyes and say, "Ethel I got an idea," even if Ethel did not agree with it, nine times out of ten Lucy could somehow talk her into going along with the program.

Their friendship was just as important to them as their marriages to their husbands, which would be the reason why people would tune in on a weekly basis to see this funny four some.

People turn in to watch the Atlantic Housewives do just the opposite: back stab each other, be jealous if one succeeds in something and another one doesn't, curse each other out and just be mean....but here I am digressing.

We all need a Ethel in our life. A friend who knows so many of our secrets that if they wanted to they could blackmail us, but because they love us they wouldn't. Do you have a friendship like this?
