Saying Goodbye to Al
You pulled me in to love you,
Though it took awhile to trust.
We talked, we fought, we cried,
We laughed, we loved, and lust.
I took you into my heart,
And also into my world.
But I never was a part of you,
Though you said I was your girl.
Though it took awhile to trust.

You made me cry so many times,
But my love for you was true.
I left you, then came back again-
What else could I do?
You remained a married man,
Throughout all of our time.
But I just could not let go,
Some called our love a crime.
Our time together taught me much,
And I learned to love and trust.
Now, I must move on, my dear,
While your body turns to dust.
I never will forget you, no matter
Where my Life goes.
Consider this my farewell
From your Desert Rose.
