From H. To the Papacy

Carolyn Lawrence
From foreign lands, their voice echoes within the shoals
Of the river Thames, there, by the Salisbury faire-
Their threats, care less, oh heads, they shall roll,
Should questions abound from Spanish who dare-
And the papacy, in English wealth hope to share-
But theses, I find, gain momentum within me,
And support my desires, to which execution shall scare
My courts into agreeing, into pursuing, then see
As I sit on this throne, England will be Vatican free-
My lineage, my blood line, my son I shall conceive
With whatever maiden I deem to fulfill my fancy
I am open, waiting breathlessly to receive-
My boy-king, the man who shall rule Tudor lands
With a roaming heart, strong lip and heavy hands.
