As the light fades to darkness
The sunset's beauty
Quiet colors meld together
My bright, warming sun
Hides behind the world
False lights lead my way
Night shines
It's own false hope
Sometimes purity and truth
Shine like the sun
But I was raised
In a world of streetlights
I live in the night
My path is covered
In shadows and impurities
Obstacles are hidden
I trip and fall
On those who lend a hand
Before it darkens
Before the streetlights shine
As the sun sets
I see a reason
To walk through one more night
Everything is silent
For a moment
I'm mesmerized and calm
A glimpsing glimmer
Of something right
Before it fades
Before falsities and shadows
And darkness blanket
My road though life
