No more waiting in line at the bank
One of my all time pet peeves. No more waiting for that guy that has to cash his check but doesn't belong to that bank. No more grimacing at the sight of that little old lady who has like ten different transactions. And no more wanting to bang my head into the wall at the sight of a long line with only one teller. With my trusty iPhone I can simply check my balances, transfer money, pay my bills and even deposit checks. Yes, that's right deposit checks! I simply take a photo of the front and back and boom check deposited.
Sorry GPS, into the closet you go
Imagine this. Its 10pm and you've just driven 6 hours into New York City, a place you've only been to a half a dozen times. You're tired, hungry and have a wife that has to pee so bad she's nearly pulled the armrest off. "Turn right and arrive at your destination", but instead of your plush hotel all you find is a guy selling $10 genuine imitation cashmere scarves. So before your wife pees all over your new floor mats you whip out your all knowing iPhone open up your maps app and discover your GPS has taken you to inner Harlem rather than your nice hotel in Queens. With a quick "directions to here" tap you are off to Queens, with of quick pit stop for your wife of course. Oh yeah, want to find a clean bathroom in Harlem, there's an app for that too. I haven't touched my GPS since. Every road trip I now use the almighty iPhone to get me there.
Say Cheese!
Having majored in photography in college, I of course always like to have a camera at my side. I by no means am creating major works of art or looking to be the next Ansel Adams, but I do like to take shots of cool things I see and then share them with my friends so I can bask in their praise of how great a photographer I am. So carrying around a small digital camera is the way to go for me, but can also be awkward and cumbersome. I think you know where I'm going with this. Bang, enter my iPhone. Even though the best you can get at the moment is a 5mp image, its more than enough to make a decent size print. Sharing is also a snap. Facebook, Twitter, numerous online albums and a variety of fun editing apps makes my iPhone the social hub of my photographic world. I can even order prints right through the phone and send them to my house. Or when I'm being impatient I can even send them to my local photo store to be printed and simply pick them up. No more carrying around my camera and boy do my pockets feel lighter.
Those are just of the few of the many ways my iPhone has changed my life. Every day I find new and wonderful things to do with my iPhone. And when the zombiepocolypse comes I'll still have my trusty iPhone show how me how to survive. Yes there's ans app for that too.
