From Your Valentine

Carmella Mae Dunkin

Happy Valentine's they say this day,

a day when lovers go out to play,

a day that makes you dance and sway,

a day unlike most other days.

Valentine's Day they say,

came so long ago this way,

when young Valentine, from his cell,

wrote the jailers daughter these words to say,

farewell to her, before he died.

The words he wrote were,

"From Your Valentine"!

Well, I read this after Valentine's, on the 15th, but the atmosphere is still in the air!
