Frontlines: Fuel of War: Is it Worth Your Money?

The highly anticipated game Frontlines: Fuel Of War, was released today. Frontlines: Fuel of war is a first person shooter game for X-box 360. The game has been compared to Call of Duty 4 and Battlefield 2.

The premise of the game is that we are in the near future (2025) and the fossil resources are depleted, the person who controls the resource controls the civilization. In the game there is a global war going on between the "western coalition" which is the US and Europe, and the "red star alliance" which consists of Russia and china.

I was very excited about this game, so I had to play it right away. I bought the game as soon as it came out. When I first started playing it I like that there are both single player and multi player campaigns. I know the multi-player won't be that active yet, until more people get this game and are on-line with it.

First I played the single player campaign. The first thing I like about this game is that it is non linear missions in the game play. So you don't have to follow a specific route and way of getting to the end. You actually choose the game play, based on your decisions you choose how the war is handled and who will win the war. There are control points placed around the map, and you need to capture these to move your squad into a better position, and further into the game. This game is similar to the other first person shooter games in that you have similar objectives.

But the nice thing about this game is you can go about doing things your own way. The game doesn't force you to attack a certain way or at a certain time. You make all the choices, you can even choose to use the vehicles if you want to. In the mission I played I used tank. I was kinda disappointed though because I heard you would have other vehicles such as helicopters, I was looking forward to using those but I guess those don't come into play until later in the game.

I haven't got a chance to play the multi player game much yet. From the way they describe it this should be the best part of the game. This game will let you play with up to 32 other players on 8 different maps. You can play as a foot solider, or you can choose to play in vehicular combat. The vehicular combat is what makes this unique. When I was playing I thought that it brought a nice twist to the game, something different then every other game out there.

Visually this game does a good job of portraying the war. It's nice to see that the when you do damage to the things around you, that you actually see it. In my opinion this isn't the best graphics out there. I think the graphics are lacking, I would expect an anticipated new game like this to have cutting edge graphics.

The sound is great. Not only is the sound quality great, but the sound effects are implemented well. When a bomb goes off far away from you, there is a delay in the sound. It makes the sound seem quite realistic.

Overall I liked this game. I think people that like the first person shooter games will enjoy this game. I don't think that there is so much improvement in this game from other first person shooter games that it is worth rushing out to buy. If you are tired of your other first person shooter games such as battlefield 2, and looking for something new but similar, this would be a good game for you. I think the multi player part of this game looks like it will be a lot of fun. I am happy that I purchased it, and I don't regret my purchase.
