Remember the days when you were little, when you went down to the local ice-cream parlor and got the freshest, most delicious, cold creamy ice-cream? Small town Edgewater, Florida just got a little sweeter with the addition of a new ice cream establishment, one that borrows from the past in regard to turning out a quality product with convenient and friendly service. The Frosty King Creamery is unique, because it looks and resembles a small vintage 1950s ice cream parlor, yet it has a drive thru window, and serves a mix of traditional and newly popular comfort foods as well.

This is a family-owned business, and some of the ice-cream on the premises is hand-made. In this day of age of processed foods and freezer burn, this wholesome ice-cream is a welcomed addition to the local ice-cream connoisseur, one who may be sick of store brands, and wishes they had a unique cone of their very own!

At the Frosty King Creamery, not only can one get homemade ice-cream, with flavors that range from the common to comical, but sugar free as well, along with Nathans famous hot dogs, and Panini sandwiches. There are other delicious varied food choices too. When it comes to the ice-cream, the main attraction, the owners give you a little sample from small spoons upon request, so you can taste test a particular flavor before ordering.

The toppings are splendidly blended into the ice cream or placed on top, which ever you prefer. It's a wonderful thing to be able to go for "custom ordered" ice-cream at a local spot, for the only other ice-cream shop with ambiance and a mix of food and dessert is Liquid Gold on Route-44, in the busy section of New Smyrna Beach, across from Wal-Mart. There is a Baskin Robbins, but this is beach-side in New Smyrna Beach, known for their hand-dipped ice cream of a harder, yet yummy consistency.

Frosty King Creamery is in the perfect location in Edgewater, on busy Route-1, and only four miles from New Smyrna Beach, heading South. This ice-cream shop has been in business for only a few months, yet it is thriving. Family operated, amazing variety and uniqueness makes for a good business and product, and the owners seem to have latched onto the traditional establishment that brings families out in droves.

People come with their kids, and this is the only place where everyone is often smiling at the same time! People sit outside and in the back areas, on benches to eat their treats, or frequent the drive through, which is hopping on the weekends. If you go through the drive-thru with your dog, your precious pooch can get a free doggie cone. My shih-tzu Kissy loved her mini vanilla treat! There is even a gray, stone elephant in the front welcoming in the hoards of people, trunk turned up for good luck. Most nights they are open till 11pm, and have an electronic sign outside that shows daily specials, types of popular food, and current hours.
