Frozen Butterbeer

Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley are only a few that absolutely loves Butterbeer. It is served hot, cold, and frozen. Most people say that they have a recipe for frozen butterbeer - just to let people down. Cold is not frozen; soda over ice cubes is not frozen. After I visited 'Wizarding World of Harry Potter' in Universal Orlando, I fell in love with the frozen Butterbeer. This recipe is frozen.

Frozen Butterbeer
Serves: 3-4 (You can double this for 6-8 servings)

Caution: This drink contains dairy and is high in calories.

Use whatever brand of ingredients you want in this recipe. I chose A&W because it's a nice mix of cream and vanilla.

Ingredients:
12 oz. A & W Cream Soda
4 TBS + ¼ tsp Smucker's Syrup - Butterscotch
2 TBS + ¼ + ⅛ tsp Hershey's Syrup - Caramel
1 TBS Sugar
1 TBS Powdered sugar
½ tsp Vanilla extract
⅔ c. Regular whipping cream
3 c. crushed Ice
Egg Beater
Blender

Drink Mix Instructions:

1. Place mugs or glasses in freezer for a few hours to overnight.

2. In a separate container, mix Cream Soda, 4 TBS of Butterscotch, and 2 TBS of Caramel.

3. Place container in fridge until cold.

4. Once soda mix is cold, and the glasses/mugs are frosty, begin to make the creamed topping.

5. Once the cream topping is done, crush ice in blender or other mixer most of the way, add soda mix and blend together on frozen drink mode until ice is fully crushed and blended. (make sure your ice is crushed, as it will fit into straws better) .

6. Fill glass/mug ¾ full with butterbeer.

7. Top with cream topping about ½ inch thick. (Whatever your preference)

Cream Topping Instructions:

1. Mix together the remaining ingredients (excluding ice) for less than one minute (electric mixers on low speed).

2. Do not let it get thick (stand on its own). It needs to be thin, movable, yet not liquidy. (If you tilt the bowl, it needs to move - but not fast).
