I spend a lot of time getting my hair into a French Twist, and so when I have it right, I want it to stay. That is why I purchased this 'Extreme Hold' product.
It comes in a purple colored metal can, and has the Aussie logo, which makes it look like a fun product. The net weight is 7 ounces (198 g).
I looked on the back of the bottle before using it and it says:
"Instant Freeze. It's hair spray. You spray it on your hair. Styling should always be so straightforward".
So I held the bottle, took off the plastic cap, and pressed down on the button. Lots of spray came out on my hair. It looked wet, and when I touched it 20 seconds later, it was still wet. It took over a minute to dry.
My hair was rock hard, and nothing was going to move it. That was a good thing, but it didn't look natural, like my other hairsprays.
I went out and my hair stayed in place, so it did what was asked of it.
The following day my hair hadn't fallen down, so I just neatened up the pins, in the back. I gave my hair just a quick go over with the Aussie spray.
Normally I wash my hair every 5 days, but by the third day my hair was looking dry, and matted. I took it down, and then tried to brush it, to get the hairspray out. Normally I might have a little flaking from the hair spray, but this was ridicules. I had a job to get the brush through my hair, and then so much broken hair, and flakes, that I wanted to cry.
This is what Aussie have on their website:
"Infused with natural Australian Wild Cherry Bark Extract, Instant Freeze Hair Spray helps maintain a well-styled 'do with maximum hold and small-time fuss. "
I can't deny that it holds, but when you can't get it out of your hair, before washing it, then this hair spray has to go.
Ingredients:
Alcohol Denat., Hydrofluorocarbon 152A, Water, Isobutane, VA Crotonates Vinyl Neodecanoate Copolymer, Acrylates/Octylacrylamide Copolymer, Mentha Piperita Leaf Extract (Peppermint), Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Starch, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Aminomethyl Propanol, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Fragrance, Ammonium Benzoate, MEA Borate, MIPA Borate, Polysorbate 80, Dimethicone, Propylene Glycol.
They do have a satisfaction guarantee or your money back, but as I only paid 99 cents for it, I won't be packing it up, and mailing it back to them. It's just too much trouble.

Post a CommentI rarely use hairspray or freeze, but, like you, when I put my hair up, I occasionally need to tame a few strands. Thanks for this.
Very informative review :)
Debbie, I could buy dozens of items there, but I only purchase brand names. The others aren't worth even 20 cents.
I was thinking of you the other day when I purchased a body spray for my daughter and I at the Dollar Store. Don't buy body spray there. You spray is, and it smells nice as it's spraying out the bottle, and then when it hits your skin, there's absolutely no smell at all. I thought "Susan needs to buy this stuff and write a review about it." lol
Another very informative article. Many thanks.
Thanks for the warning.
I haven't tried that one.
