One of the main reasons that I wanted to have frozen corn on hand was to add to my homemade chili batches that I make as well as to add to some veggie burgers. Prior to getting the bag of Frozen Organic Corn from Naturally Preferred I was using mixed vegetables in place of corn. This was fine except sometimes you really do not want to be adding carrots and peas to your chili in addition to corn. The mixed vegetables that I use to get were Cascadian Farms Organic Frozen Mixed Vegetables, although they were good they were sold at a different grocery store and again there were times that I just wanted some frozen carrots, frozen peas or frozen corn, and not all at the same time. I was eager to give this organic frozen corn a try and so I went to cooking some as soon as I had the opportunity to.
The Frozen Organic Corn from Naturally Preferred tasted very good. I tried my best to follow the cooking instructions on the bag and I really think that it paid off. The cooking direction were very, very simple and didn't require the corn to cook very long. All that I had to do was bring a half of cup to water to a boil and then add the frozen corn. From here I just had to bring the water back up to a boil and then cover the pot and turn the heat down to medium. I just had to stir the corn once while it cooked and it was cooked in as little as five minutes. This cooking process still left the corn nice and healthy, tasty and firm. I reviewed the nutrition facts to get a better idea of how healthy the frozen organic corn was.
In just two-thirds of a cup of the corn there was one hundred calories. A serving of Frozen Organic Corn from Naturally Preferred contained twenty-one grams of carbohydrates, five grams of sugars, three grams of protein and one grams of fiber. In addition it also had six percent listed for vitamin C in the minerals and vitamins section of the nutrition facts. I thought that this corn tasted really good and was really healthy. It did not have anything added to it, the only ingredient was organic corn. In addition to this corn I also tried Frozen Organic Green Peas from this company as well as their Organic Frozen Broccoli, Organic Honey Fiber Multigrain Cereal and Organic Golden Flax High Fiber Cereal, Organic Unsweetened Apple Sauce, Organic Blackberry Apple Sauce, Organic Roasted Garlic, Organic Italian Herb and Organic Tomato Basil pasta sauces, their Organic Semolina and Whole Wheat Spaghetti and Organic Carrots. I would recommend for anyone to give this organic frozen corn a try as well as the other frozen vegetables and other foods from the Naturally Preferred company.
